Medication

  • Unless an appointment was changed, cancelled, or missed, it is unlikely that a refill will be needed prior to an appointment.

  • In the event that a medication refill is needed, requests should be made at least 5 days in advance by email.

  • Please note that controlled substance prescriptions (e.g. stimulant medication for ADHD) cannot be called in over the phone and cannot be refilled. A new hard copy prescription must be written for each fill.

  • Each state has their own rules for filling prescriptions regardless of where the prescription is written and some states are stricter than others (e.g. New Jersey will only fill stimulant and benzodiazepine prescriptions written in the prior 30 days, whereas Pennsylvania will fill them for 6 months).

Insurance

  • Dr. Rosenberg believes that by not being on a managed care panel, she can deliver better quality service to best meet your needs in a more confidential manner. In order to provide you with the highest-quality confidential, timely psychiatric care, Dr. Rosenberg does not contract with any insurance companies and is considered an out of network provider.

  • Dr. Rosenberg has "opted out" of and is not a Medicare provider.  Neither Medicare nor Medigap insurance programs will reimburse patients for the cost of their visits. Medicare patients are required by law to sign a private contract with Dr. Rosenberg to document their understanding that Dr. Rosenberg has “opted out” of Medicare.

Fee and Payment

  • Payment in full is due at the time of the visit for all appointments via cash or check.

  • Upon payment, you will be given a receipt. If you intend to bill your insurance company, this receipt can be attached to your insurance form for reimbursement directly to you. You will be responsible for the entire fee regardless of your insurance coverage.

  • If you plan to use your insurance benefits, you should check with your insurance provider prior to your first appointment in order to understand the full details of your out-of-network mental health benefits.

  • If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified Dr. Rosenberg at least 24 hours (1 business day) in advance (72 hours for an evaluation appointment), you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.

  • Additional fees may be incurred for record review, report or letter writing, prior authorizations, frequent or long phone contact or emails and text messages.

Electronic Communication

  • Text messages (also known as SMS, short message service) and email are both safe, but have limitations to their security and privacy. Although it is unlikely, there is a possibility that information you include in an email can be intercepted and read by other parties besides the person to whom it is addressed. Please be aware of this before sending personal identifying information such as your social security number, birth date, or sensitive medical information in any emails you send to Dr. Rosenberg.

  • Since text messages cannot be flagged or marked unread, information conveyed through them can easily be overlooked and not attended to. Dr. Rosenberg does not endorse using text messages for any information other than for immediate use, (eg. running late for an appointment, sent you an email).

Confidentiality and Privacy

  • The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

  • Exceptions include:

    • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

    • If a patient is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

    • If a patient intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.

Please note: Dr. Rosenberg is providing tele-health services.
